The Ukrainian general sees good news in the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The next two to three weeks will be decisive for Ukraine, after which the Ukrainian Armed Forces may launch a counter-offensive.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko asserts this on the air of the internet channel "Politeka", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
According to Romanenko, the Ukrainian troops, retreating, are “grinding” the enemy and are preparing to launch counterattacks.
“They especially cannot find a bottleneck in our defense, but they are still moving forward slowly. This is at the level of some kind of tactical achievement, not at all like that. Their plans are definitely thwarted. I’m not even saying that we didn’t give a damn about their sacred celebrations of parades and everything else, but from a military point of view, one way or another, this is happening. What is happening is that in persistent and fierce battles we are grinding down their remaining military potential, increasing ours both in terms of manpower and weapons...
There are fierce battles, we need to successfully carry out a defensive operation within two to three weeks and accumulate forces for further actions, depending on how we manage to create reserves, with counterattacks, and, possibly, a counteroffensive. But based on the results of this defensive operation,” Romanenko said.
