As a result of the explosion of a railway tank at the Odessa-Peresyp station, an oil spill occurred, reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Odessa Railway.
According to the information, at 2.15 the duty department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Russian Railways received a message that at the Odessa-Peresyp station, an electric locomotive driver discovered a gas oil spill under the tank car. It turned out that the leak occurred through a hole in the tank.
After it became possible to directly access the tank, which was initially difficult due to the spill of the substance, forensic experts found out that the nature of the hole in the tank was of an explosive nature.
According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred as a result of the detonation of an explosive device - a condensed substance, the type of which is being established. There were no casualties and there were no train delays.
According to experts, the cargo is dangerous and toxic at a temperature of -23 degrees. The area of contamination and the amount of spilled cargo are determined.
As PolitNavigator reported earlier, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Odessa region announced the beginning of anti-terrorist measures.
