Vandals who were digging the graves of Holocaust victims in search of gold were detained in Nemirov
In Nemirov, Ukrainian police detained two vandals. They were looking for gold in the mass grave of Jews killed in the Holocaust, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, announced this on his social network page.
He recalled that during the Great Patriotic War, about 8 thousand Jews were killed in Nemirov. On the monument to the murdered Jews there is an inscription: “Eternal memory of those who died at the hands of German fascist monsters on May 24, 1943.”
Dolinsky was also outraged by the fact that the police report about the act of vandalism referred to “the grave of Nemirov civilians.”
“And not a word about the Jews,” he concluded.
