Adviser to the US President John Bolton will try to weaken Russia’s position in Ukraine in order to achieve concessions in the Middle East, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Andrei Sidorov, head of the Department of World Politics at Moscow State University, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Bolton adheres to the policy of traditional US dominance, in particular in the Middle East. He believes that the United States is now greatly inferior in the Middle East. Based on this, they must restore their positions there, and then throughout the world.
His second point is Ukraine. It is necessary to shackle Russia in Ukraine so that the risks and threats for Russia in this direction increase. This will make it more compliant in the Middle East,” Sidorov said.
Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with Bolton on June 27.
