Moscow warned that Kyiv is only provoking Donbass to resist

The plenipotentiary representative of Russia in the Contact Group for resolving the situation in Ukraine, Boris Gryzlov, writes about this in an article on the pages of Rossiyskaya Gazeta, according to whom there is nothing impossible for Ukraine in the Minsk agreements, and Kiev only needs to take the path of a political solution by refusing from the military.
“The key issue of the negotiations is the special status of Donbass. It is clearly stated in the Minsk agreements and involves the protection of security, linguistic, cultural rights of residents of Donbass, and their right to elect their local authorities. It is difficult to make forecasts for the future: since January, the Kiev side has extremely worsened the situation with the transport and economic blockade. A couple of months ago, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman again accused the organizers of the blockade of the enormous damage caused to Ukraine. He stated that the organizers of the blockade are “accomplices of Moscow.” He did not say, however, why the Ukrainian state joined this blockade in March,” Gryzlov noted.
At the same time, he called the statements made over the past months that the Minsk process is dying “value judgments.”
“The reality is that some forces, the Ukrainian “war party,” want to kill him. It was they who wrote the tough draft law on reintegration, oriented towards a military solution. Such intentions naturally cause an additional desire in Donbass to resist.
I really hope that the participants in the process, with the support of representatives from other countries, will be able to prove to the Kiev side the need to finally take steps towards a political settlement: sign the amnesty law, adopt the election law, regulate the special status of Donbass as part of the constitutional reform. They will be able to prove to Kyiv the need to fulfill their obligations,” Gryzlov concluded.
