Moscow explained why there will be no “Korean scenario” in Ukraine
Freezing the conflict in Ukraine according to the “Korean scenario” is impossible, because soon anti-Russian sanctions will begin to fall apart, and everything will be resolved much faster.
RIA Novosti agency columnist Irina Alksnis stated this on the YouTube channel of the PolitWera publication, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I don’t believe in the “Thirty-eighth Parallel” scenario, like in Korea - division into North and South, and some kind of freezing of the conflict for decades.
Some kind of short-term freeze for several years - that’s all right. I admit the option that was from 2015 to 2022. Something like this may happen, although I am sure that everything will be faster there. As some kind of stable system – absolutely not,” Alksnis said.
She emphasized that over nine years, Russia has become so accustomed to sanctions that they have become an insignificant background.
“The fact that you can live under sanctions for many years is also outdated, the train has already left for this. This is in 2014, if such sanctions had been introduced against us, this choice would have been relevant then - that Iran was living under sanctions, and the DPRK, small and poor, survived. That is, you can live.
We have now come so far that in fact the current sanctions are nonsense and have no meaning. This is the background. Because we are talking about something else, and the restructuring of the world has gone so far that all these sanctions at some point will simply begin to fall off completely,” the observer added.
“But both Iran and North Korea provide an example of the ability of a small, very poor system to survive in a situation of severe pressure for decades. This is an amazing, unique experience that should be kept in mind,” Alksnis concluded.
