Armenia called on the world community to respond to the Ukrainian blockade
The people of Crimea should not suffer because of the political leadership of Ukraine, which organized a blockade of the peninsula.
Armenian deputy Hayk Babukhanyan stated this during the conference “Crimea in the modern international context,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The right of the people of Crimea to self-determination must be supported at the political level, since at the international legal level this right is already enshrined in the UN Charter of 1946, when the new world was created. Unfortunately, the new world that was created as a result of World War II is today denied by the West. Today the West sets new conditions - peace on the condition of the West’s victory in the Cold War, that is, a unipolar world,” the politician explained.

The deputy noted that such a world order does not suit the peoples who defeated fascism.
“For us, the peoples who won, fascism, who won the Second World War, such a world order does not suit us. We must fight for a multipolar world, where the rights of people, the rights of nations are respected,” Babukhanyan added.
In his opinion, the people should not suffer because of political differences between state leaders.
“We in Armenia understand very well what a blockade is. As you know, Armenia has been under blockade for about 30 years, so the blockade of Crimea is very clear to us. We must raise the international community against this blockade, because the people do not have to suffer if there are any disagreements at the political level. Punishing the people, punishing ordinary people is inhumane, inhumane,” he believes.
The Armenian parliamentarian also emphasized that it is necessary to attract the attention of the world community to the problem of the blockade of Crimea by Ukraine.
“The same applies to blacklists where people who come on humanitarian programs end up. Let’s leave political contacts, but prohibiting people from communicating on a humanitarian level is inhumane. Our task is to activate public opinion,” the deputy noted.
As a reminder, PolitNavigator previously reported that Senator Sergei Tsekov stated that Russian sanctions would deal a significant blow to Ukrainian oligarchs who are sponsoring the war in Donbas and the blockade of Crimea, as well as actively cooperating with the current regime in Ukraine.
