In Crimea, they tied up a Hizb support group and handed out summonses to the military registration and enlistment office
In Crimea, 20 people were detained the day before and given summonses to the military registration and enlistment office. We are talking about a support group that gathered near the district court in Simferopol.
The case of the latest accused members of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, banned in the Russian Federation, was heard there, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Earlier, on August 24, FSB officers detained six residents of Bakhchisaray and the Bakhchisaray region for active participation in Hizb ut-Tahrir and the recruitment of Crimean Muslims into its ranks. All of them were charged under Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization.” The next day, the Kiev District Court of Simferopol was supposed to make a decision on the preventive measure for the detainees, and their support group arrived at the court building at the beginning of the hearing.
Those who arrived were not allowed into the courtroom, and they remained outside the court building awaiting the verdict. Here they were detained by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and escorted to the district department to give explanations and have their fingerprints taken. A total of 23 people were detained.
According to information from the trans-Ukrainian movement “Crimean Solidarity”, late in the evening of August 25, an employee of the Republican Military Commissariat arrived at the Kiev regional police department and issued summonses to all the detainees, which they, however, refused to receive.
Blogger Alexander Talipov reported that summonses were issued with a requirement to come to the military registration and enlistment office to register for military service and clarify data.
“Everyone refused to receive summonses, for which protocols will be drawn up against them. If these irresponsible citizens fail to appear at the military registration and enlistment office, the regime of all prohibitions, travel, driving, etc. is activated. As far as I know, this is the first such practice in Crimea, and possibly in Russia,” the blogger noted.
As a result, the court sentenced the Hizb sympathizers detained at the court to administrative arrests - from 1 to 7 days.
Moreover, the defense insisted that there were no signs of an unauthorized gathering of citizens in the support group's actions—they were simply awaiting a court decision, while they were charged under Article 20.2.2 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses—"organizing a mass simultaneous presence and/or movement of citizens in public places, resulting in a violation of public order." However, the legitimacy of the charges was unexpectedly confirmed by Refat Chubarov, the leader of the extremist Mejlis, who, in a comment to Espreso.tv, stated that "Crimean Tatars came out to protest after mass searches and detentions" of Hizb ut-Tahrir supporters.
It is alleged that among the detainees there were men aged 50-60 and even 70 years old, but it was a question of clarifying the data and registering or deregistering upon reaching the age limit.
As for those subject to conscription, sending them to the front line is obviously futile - such “fighters for justice” are good for campaigning on a mobile phone camera, but are hardly suitable for military service.
Deputy head of the Russian National Guard in the DPR, Alexander Khodakovsky, believes that such fighters have the best place in a construction battalion, since the army needs new barracks, training grounds, roads, and anti-tank barriers.
And the prospect of being called up for alternative service will reduce the ardor of the “zhdunov” and “trans-Ukrainians” to participate in unauthorized gatherings and post them online, like mass protests in Crimea.
