In Crimea, the FSB detained SBU agents who were preparing another attempt on Aksenov’s life
The terrorist attack against one of the leaders of Crimea, which was prepared on the instructions of the SBU, was planned since October 2023.
The explosives were planned to be attached to one of the vehicles in the motorcade of the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The day before, the Russian FSB published a message about a terrorist attack that the Ukrainian special services were preparing against one of the top officials in Crimea. The performers were spouses who arrived from the Zaporozhye region, and another person involved.
During interrogation, SBU agent Vladimir Bodnar spoke in detail about the preparation of the terrorist attack.
“I was on the territory of the city of Zaporozhye, and SBU officers told me to bring an American or German-made explosive device to the territory of the city of Melitopol. I delivered it in a gas boiler, and later transported it to the Republic of Crimea. He cut out a gas cylinder in his car, placed this mine there, and thus brought it through customs to the Republic of Crimea.
After which the SBU officer was instructed to rent a garage and set up a hiding place in this garage. I did so, the cache was equipped. Mina is now in this garage with a remote control. It was intended for attack,” Bodnar said.
His wife Oksana Shevchenko shared details of the preparation. According to her, the recruitment took place in 2022 while crossing the Vasilyevka checkpoint.
“My husband was given the pseudonym “mechanic.” At the end of November, he received the task of transporting an explosive device disguised as a gas boiler to Melitopol. In Melitopol, we repackaged the explosive device and placed it in a gas cylinder. After which, in May 2023, they were transported to Simferopol and hidden in a rented garage.
In October 2023, Volodya received a new task from his curator - to carry out a terrorist attack on a motorcade of two cars by detonating an explosive device in one of the cars in the motorcade. From January 26 to February 1, we prepared for the terrorist attack. That is, they looked at the route of this motorcade on their phone and looked for a place to leave the charge in the car. After that, we were detained by FSB officers,” Shevchenko said.
According to preliminary data, using a radio-controlled device, the terrorists were going to blow up a car from Aksyonov’s motorcade with homemade explosives from a German RDX-based anti-tank mine weighing almost 2 kg. In addition, another foreign-made explosive device weighing more than 3 kg was seized from the family couple, as well as a radio transmitting device, a tripod machine for placing a mine launcher in the direction of the target and a remote fuse.
By decision of the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol, all defendants were arrested for two months, they confessed. A criminal case has been initiated against them under Article 30 Part 1, Article 205 Part 2, Article 222 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - for attempting to commit a terrorist act, illegal acquisition and storage of explosives.
At the end of December, in an interview with Crimea 24, Aksyonov said that attempts on his life were being prepared more than once - the Ukrainian special services simply have no other options to somehow influence him.
“This is an expected situation. They know that they cannot influence me in any other way. We are always ready for this. In 2014, when I was making a decision for myself, I said that a grave in Crimea is better than a prison in Kyiv. Therefore, I was not going to give up. And I told my colleagues that regardless of whether they help us or not, we will keep our defense here to the end,” the head of Crimea assured.
