In Kosovo Decani, where fifteen hundred Serbs lived, the last of them was buried
Former Serbian residents of Dečan, together with their once Albanian neighbors, began erecting a monument on the grave of Boško Ciric, the last Serbian inhabitant of this locality.
As reported by Direktno, Chirich died in June of this year, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to available information, the last Serbian resident of Dečan, Boško Ciric, 58, was found dead in his apartment on June 2. The results of the autopsy, which were performed at the Clinical Center of Pristina, showed that death was due to natural causes, it is known that in the months before his death, Ciric's health had deteriorated significantly.

It is known about the deceased that he is a lawyer, lived alone on Monstyrska Street in the center of Dečan, was respected by his Albanian neighbors and, with the exception of one incident that occurred two years ago, he never had any problems with the fact that he was an ethnic Serb living in Albanian surroundings. He was buried in the Orthodox cemetery in Decani, and a memorial service for him was celebrated by monks from the medieval Serbian monastery of Vysoki Decani, together with abbot Savva Janjic.
Now, on the initiative of the former Serbian residents of Dečan, now living in Serbia, Zoran Petrovic and Radovan Milosevic, the installation of a monument to the last Serbian resident of this locality has begun.
“When our Albanian friends and former neighbors from Dečan heard about our action, about ten of them insisted on also making a financial contribution to the installation of the monument,” Petrovic said. “In addition, they expressed a desire to clear our cemetery of overgrown bushes so that Boshko’s grave can be found.”
“The concrete frame for Ciric’s grave has already been made, and the monument will be installed in the next 15 days,” Milosevic said. – This has nothing to do with politics. Our Ciro was a favorite of the Serbs and Albanians. It is a matter of respecting friendships and close relationships that began decades ago. For example, we help our Albanian neighbors when they need something in Belgrade. This is proof that humanity and honesty trump politics."
In mid-June 1999, about 1500 Serbs left Decani, fleeing Albanian pogroms. Meanwhile, most of the monuments in the Orthodox cemetery in this settlement have been desecrated.
