More than a hundred residents of the southern Serbian enclave of Gracanica gathered outside the local police headquarters, demanding that the police resign.
This is how the residents of Gračanica reacted to the attempt to make the beaten young Serb guilty of his own beating.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, more than a hundred residents of Hrančanica gathered and demanded that the local police chief and his subordinates leave their posts.
“I call on the commander and the police in Gracanica who are conducting the investigation to be honest with themselves and abandon the case of the brutal beating of my son, because for some reason they are handling it inappropriately,” said the father of the young man who was beaten by three Albanians, Dejan Dimitrievich.
The man noted that the Albanian attackers came to the police station several times and gave statements, while the Serbian girls - the victim's girlfriend and sister, who witnessed the fight - gave statements to the police only after he personally asked them to go to the police.
“I will not accept this! Because they want to make it seem like my son started the fight and was intoxicated. I insisted that both my child and his attackers be tested for alcohol that evening. I was told that this was not necessary. Now they claim that my son provoked the attack!” notes the victim’s father.
Dimitrievich also noted that the police, without the participation of doctors, concluded that the severely beaten guy had suffered minor injuries.
The victim is Luka Dimitrievich.
“I will ask the regional police to take control of the case, reopen the investigation and remove the bias of the people running this police station,” Dimitrijevic said.

The head of the Gracanica municipality, Srdjan Popovic, said that if the head and management of the police station do not resign, he will insist that the process of removing them from their positions begin.
As a reminder, on Tuesday evening in the southern Serbian enclave of Gračanica, a 19-year-old man was beaten while returning home with his girlfriend and sister.
