The US Congress proposed making Russia and the DPRK “brothers” under sanctions
The Congress of the United States of America proposed combining sanctions against the Russian Federation and North Korea.

“Republicans in the US House of Representatives proposed combining bills on sanctions against the Russian Federation and the DPRK. In their opinion, this should strengthen the final document,” the message says.
Let us note that this Republican initiative was voiced by Majority Leader in the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy. He noted that the bill on restrictive measures against the DPRK passed almost all the necessary procedures in the lower house back in May, and a decision on sanctions against Russia can be added to it.
According to the publication, a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Democratic Congressman Eliot Engel, criticized this proposal.
“All I understand is that they (Republicans - ed.) are trying to ‘kill’ the bill imposing sanctions against Russia,” Engel said.
At the same time, according to the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Ed Royce, combining the bills on the DPRK and Russia is one of several options that are under consideration.
Let us recall that at the end of June the United States expanded sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the situation in Ukraine. In particular, 38 individuals and organizations were added to the sanctions list.
