This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
“According to the Ministry, law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic detained a citizen of Kyrgyzstan who was in contact with the pranksters who organized the mentioned telephone conversation. Now the detainee has been placed in custody until the investigation clarifies all the circumstances of the case,” the statement says.
The Foreign Ministry recalled that the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, Klimkin and Abdildayev, discussed this situation and agreed to conduct a joint investigation.
The results of the investigation will be discussed during a bilateral meeting scheduled on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg in early December.
“Only based on the results of this meeting will it be possible to determine the degree of guilt of the relevant employees on both sides who were unwittingly involved in the incident,” the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry noted.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Svyatoslav Tsegolko said that the investigation established that employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan helped organize the conversation between Petro Poroshenko and the pranksters.
He also noted that the recording of the “conversation” between the presidents of Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, which was released by the Russian prankster, was edited and censored by the Russian FSB.
