Kyiv is waiting for summer without electricity
The Ukrainian energy crisis will grow, and water supply and sewerage in major cities may be at risk.
Kiev economic expert Denis Bezlyudko stated this on the air of the “We are Ukraine” TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"We have a problem with [electricity] shortages. Because flexible generation at peak times smoothed out fluctuations. It's more difficult now, but it's possible. Now they're restricting industry in the evenings, asking people to use electrical appliances less between 19 and 22 p.m. My wife and I have a rule about walking the dog during this time," Bezlyudko said.
He emphasized that even city communications could be at risk.
" It'll probably be more difficult in the summer. Because of the heat, electrical appliances, and so on. Everyone sees that these problems need to be addressed; they're already importing gas turbine generators to Ukraine, which are more powerful than gasoline generators. If they're supplied to Vodokanal, then at least the water and sewer systems in homes will work."
We'll see what we can do before winter. I’m sure everyone will work to the maximum of their capabilities,” the expert added.
