Kiev admitted that there are strong anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Bessarabia
Strong separatist and anti-Ukrainian sentiments in the Kharkov and Odessa regions have become the reason that residents of these regions en masse avoid serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The publication notes that the Kharkov military registration and enlistment offices are reluctant to talk about the reasons why local residents do not want to serve in the Ukrainian army and cites the words of the deputy military commissar of the Kharkov region, Yuriy Koval, who evasively says that “local characteristics play a role.”
“There are strong separatist sentiments there,” admits in turn presidential adviser and assistant defense minister Yuri Biryukov, quoted by the magazine. - What would you like? Kharkov is the failed Kharkov People’s Republic.”
“Things are even worse in another “center” of separatism – the Odessa region, which fulfilled the state order by 57 percent,” emphasizes “Novoye Vremya.” – The statistics are spoiled by Bessarabia – the territory between the Black Sea and Transnistria. Bulgarians, Gagauz, Moldovans and Russians live compactly here; anti-Ukrainian sentiments are strong among the population, which were strengthened by the rough work of local military commissars.”
Kyiv acknowledged that there are strong anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Bessarabia.
