The upcoming meeting in the “Normandy format”, which will be held in Germany, will not result in serious results, but will be another tiny step towards peace in Donbass.

This opinion was expressed in a commentary to PolitNavigator by the leader of the Ukrainian party Union of Left Forces Vasily Volga.
“A year ago I had the hope that if the president of our country signs an international treaty, he would treat it as required by the Constitution of Ukraine, and the treaty would be implemented,” the politician said. – A year ago, I could not imagine that the president, Klimkin or any other statesman of Ukraine was not going to implement the international documents signed by Ukraine. Over the past year, it has become clear that Poroshenko did not give a damn about the Constitution, the norms of international law and his own word, which he has already violated many times both inside Ukraine, promising something and not keeping his promises, and in the international arena.”
At the same time, he noted that Moscow, despite the fact that it “has always strictly and specifically adhered to its goals,” has “never given obligations that it is not able to fulfill.”
According to Volga, Russia will continue to pursue a policy of supporting Russian-speaking residents.
At the same time, the agency’s interlocutor believes that no breakthrough decisions should be expected today from the upcoming meeting in the Normandy format, but nevertheless does not consider it useless.
“Nothing special will happen now, but the situation with the settlement in Donbass will advance another millimeter,” says Volga.
Kyiv acknowledged that Moscow never made commitments it could not fulfill.
