In Kyiv they realized: Despite Ukrainian threats, Russian Crimea will show a record turnout
Despite threats from Kyiv about criminal liability for Crimeans participating in the Russian presidential election, the peninsula will see a record turnout. Yusuf Kurkchi, First Deputy Minister for Occupied Territories, announced this on the Chernomorskaya TV and Radio Company, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The occupying country is trying to legalize its presence there by holding these elections, demonstrating some democratic instruments. On the other hand, this is a demonstration to the entire domestic electorate that this region is already integrated into Russia. It seems to me that the Kremlin will be of little interest in the percentage of participation in another territory in comparison with Crimea. They will do everything to ensure that the percentage of participation there is higher than the Russian average,” Kurkchi said.
