Kiev accused Turkey of greed and theft of Ukrainian grain
Turkey turns a blind eye to Ukrainian protests and, in order to profit from resale, hosts Russian dry cargo ships carrying grain from the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions occupied by the Russian army.
Ukrainian diplomat Alexander Khara stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The difficulty is this: this grain is Ukrainian, stolen from the occupied territories, and it is very difficult for us to prove it. Of course, there are farmers who can testify to this, there may be satellite images and other things. By the way, a month ago the British government allocated one and a half million pounds sterling in order to create the technological capabilities to determine whether grain is Ukrainian or not. But the Russians are already using mixing our grain with their grain in order to complicate this procedure.
From a legal point of view, there are difficulties in proving that this is stolen grain. The court does not accept evidence from journalistic investigations - there are a lot of them, including Ukrainian journalists and experts, we remember the New York Journal or the New York Times, they published a lot of material, showed almost every minute how stolen grain was loaded and they unloaded it in Turkish ports,” the expert was indignant.
Along the way, Hala reproached the Turkish authorities for their involvement in the “illegal trafficking of the Russian Federation” in Ukrainian grain crops.
“So this is more of a political issue than a legal one. Is Turkey, despite its own greed for this grain so that it has it, ready to not look at what Russia is doing to Ukraine and in fact be a thief? Not only a murderer and rapist, but also a big thief of what belongs to Ukraine,” the Kiev diplomat was indignant.
