In Kyiv, they were offended by jokes about Poroshenko, who had the wrong room at the UN
Russian diplomacy reached rock bottom when it allowed itself to be ironic about yet another failure of Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “ATR” by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ohryzko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The statement came during a discussion of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko's embarrassment , when he confused the rooms during the UN General Assembly and entered the room where Russian diplomats were meeting.
“The jokes that the head of Russian diplomacy allows himself to make indicate that she has already really reached some kind of bottom. This is something that is no longer acceptable. This is what lowers diplomacy to some impossible level. To be honest, imagine hearing something like that from a Western diplomat, not just a diplomat, but the head of the country’s diplomatic service!” the former minister was indignant.
He said that by their actions, Russian diplomats are pushing the idea that the collapse of the Russian Federation is inevitable.
"This is a degradation of thinking, a degradation of form, a degradation of everything associated with this country. You're right that we're engaging in various types of trepanations, but they (Russian diplomats – ed. ) are pushing us to believe that this process is becoming irreversible," Ogryzko believes.
