They are scared in Kyiv: An anti-Ukrainian format is being formed in Europe
The recent visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov to Germany is a serious cause for concern in Kyiv.
The Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper writes about this, citing Ukrainian political experts .
“Currently, some experts in Kyiv are unofficially talking about fears that Ukraine will be left alone with Russia with its demands,” the publication points out. – They note that Russian-American negotiations are on pause. And the “Normandy format”, as before, does not demonstrate effectiveness. At the same time, they pay attention to the intensified dialogue along the Russia-Germany and Russia-France lines. Another cause for concern was the summit announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: “On September 7, a summit of Russia, Germany, France and Turkey will be held in Istanbul, let’s see what we can do.”

Kyiv experts believe that during this summit not only Syrian but also Ukrainian issues will be discussed.
“Diplomat Alexander Hara told TV channel 24 that “Germany is not present in Syria - neither militarily nor politically. Germany is the aggrieved party due to refugee problems.” And Angela Merkel’s meeting with Sergei Lavrov and Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov could “further deepen the crack between the United States and Europe.”
Khara noted that one of the reasons for the controversy was Nord Stream 2. “This will create a new geostrategic situation - an alliance between Berlin and Moscow, possibly Paris, and will change the essence of the EU,” he explained. NG's source, who asked not to be named, noted that Turkey and the Russian Federation have another connecting link - Turkish Stream. In this spirit, he proposed to perceive the summit in Istanbul: “Before our eyes, a new format is emerging. It’s hard to call him pro-Ukrainian,” writes NG.
