Kiev residents propose to give the metro station “Lva Tolstoy Square” a new name.

This is stated in the corresponding petition on the Kyiv City Council website.
“Leo Tolstoy was an outstanding writer, philosopher and educational figure - the name of the square in honor of him should remain, but he was not a Ukrainian figure. Therefore, it is not necessary to name a metro station in the capital of Ukraine after him,” the author wrote.
In his opinion, the metro station should have a Ukrainian name. As an option, the author suggests calling the station “Heroes of Ukraine”.
