At the entrance to the cemetery in the Dalmatian village of Bribir and on the church fence in the parish of Ravnokotar, unknown persons painted graffiti with Ustasha symbols.

The Dalmatian Diocese of the SPC reported this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The diocese said that Ustashe inscriptions were painted on ancient walls enclosing the territory of the Serbian cemetery, which is part of the cultural and historical complex “Bribirska glavica” (the medieval patrimony of the Šubić princes). In particular, the Croatian flag was drawn with the Latin letter “U” in the middle, and next to it was written the Ustashe motto Za dom spremni! and the phrase “Chetniks, get out!” (Croatian, Bosniak, Slovenian and Albanian nationalists call all Serbs by Chetniks, named after the Serbian “Cossacks”-monarchists).

Also on both sides of the pillars of the entrance gates of the cemetery were written the Latin letter U with characteristic “ears” - a symbol of Ustashism, and a swastika.

The family grave of the Gnidich family, which is located at the very entrance to the cemetery, was desecrated with similar symbols. The diocese immediately informed the Croatian police about the incident, who arrived at the scene only forty minutes later and conducted an inspection.

A similar incident occurred on November 4 in the village of Ravnokotar, when on the church fence of the Orthodox Serbian temple was written “Čedi (a contemptuous name for Serbs among Croatian nationalists), you are not welcome!”, as well as the Ustashe coat of arms and the same slogan Za dom spremni!.

“It is with great regret that we have to inform the public about these inhumane acts, which greatly disturbed the residents of these villages, as well as the entire Serbian community in Dalmatia. With such outrages, people who are still captive of some past, unpleasant times, are trying to damage the fraternal and good neighborly relations of the Serbian and Croatian peoples,” says the message of the Dalmatian diocese of the SOC.
