At the police station where she was taken, the 51-year-old citizen’s documents were checked and an explanation was taken: she had no intention of agitating anyone for anything, she attached the ribbon as a decoration for last year’s Victory Day, and since then she has forgotten about the jacket.
“Having checked the identity of the citizen and listened to her explanations, our employees released her, since she did not violate public order,” said the head of the Suvorov Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Verbitsky.
“What color ribbons to decorate clothes with is everyone’s personal choice. However, law enforcement officers will certainly check the documents of those wearing “Colorado” accessories. Since in this case, seemingly harmless yellow-black pieces of fabric can be a kind of password or identifying mark “friend or foe” for organizers of provocations, separatist agitators or saboteurs,” writes the Ukrainian publication.
