The Institute of USA and Canada does not believe in the political future of the ailing Biden
Given the state of health of US President Joe Biden, it is unlikely that he will lead the state again.
This was stated by Vladimir Vasiliev, chief researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent, while assessing Biden's intention to run for second place.
“Given the extremely poor start to his presidency and the state of his health, speculation about a second term for Joe Biden looks entirely speculative. It’s hard to believe that Biden will be able to become president for a second time,” the expert told Kommersant.
“Therefore, all statements about the current president’s readiness to run in the 2024 elections pursue another goal - to suppress speculation about his possible early resignation or premature transformation into a “lame duck,” which would allow the Republicans to finally seize the initiative,” Vasiliev concluded.
Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced the decision of Biden, who recently celebrated his 79th birthday, to run in the 2024 elections. If he does this, he will become the oldest president in US history.
