The State Duma decided not to scare the West with Zhirinovsky
The State Duma of the Russian Federation refused to name the law on counter-sanctions in honor of Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The corresponding amendment was introduced by LDPR deputy Vadim Dengin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the law on American sanctions is called the Magnitsky Law, there is the well-known Yarovaya Law.” We believe that this law can be named after Vladimir Volfovich. In the West, all politicians tremble when the name Zhirinovsky is heard. Since we have retaliatory sanctions, it would be correct to call this law exactly that,” Dengin said.
However, only 38 deputies voted for his amendment. The State Duma adopted the law in the second reading, having considered 15 amendments.
