The A Just Russia faction submitted a bill to the State Duma today that would provide for amendments to the law on state support for cinematography.

“You can get financing from us. Either the producer, distributor, or exhibitor of a national film enters into a contract with an executive authority (usually the Ministry of Culture or the Cinema Fund) and receives budget money. We believe that such money cannot be given to those producers, distributors or exhibitors of our films who have outstanding criminal convictions for discrediting our army, for supporting restrictions, sanctions against our country or individual individuals, or the same administrative articles.
If the state is ready to finance domestic films, then only to those who take a patriotic, correct position. And those who spit on their homeland and plunge a knife into the back of our soldiers should not receive any government money,” Mironov said.
