Germany predicts Ukraine will have “its own Transnistria”
The situation in Donbass is heading towards freezing the conflict according to the Transnistrian scenario. Ukraine needs to give more powers to the regions and begin federalization.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the UkrLife internet channel, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

According to the expert, there will be no meeting of the Normandy Four in the near future, just as there will be no breakthrough decisions on Donbass.
“Apparently, there will be no serious meetings within the framework of this particular “Normandy Four.” No one wins from this, everyone loses. It seems to me that after the Paris meeting there should have been a meeting in Berlin, but due to the pandemic it did not happen. I don’t see any efforts from any of the four parties participating in this meeting to somehow resume this format and try to do something. Maybe there are no ideas on how to do this.
What is the result? The conflict is frozen. There will be what we see in Moldova, in the east of Ukraine there will be its own Transnistria, which will feed on Russian economic ties, money, Russian passports. And the possibility of uniting again with a larger Ukraine - all this is a very distant prospect.
But from the Ukrainian side, of course, there are also certain requirements for it - to think about the idea of a federation, knowing that these lands, as federal bodies or autonomies, should be returned and included in Ukraine. But I don’t see any movement there either in parliament or in Ukrainian think tanks. Therefore, it is as it is today, a strategic pause,” Rahr said.
