Donetsk calls for treating Zelensky as just another puppet
One should not be surprised that Vladimir Zelensky adopted the rhetoric of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko - the new Ukrainian president is the same puppet of the United States as the previous one.
The head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Public Movement, Alexey Muratov, stated this on the Union TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Both the previous president and this one have the same curators, and they work according to the same manuals. Therefore, it is not surprising that in words the current president, when he went to the elections, spoke about peace and a cessation of hostilities, but in fact we see sabotage, a delay in the negotiation process, but, in fact, nothing has changed.
We need to be aware that the people who really make decisions are not in Ukraine, but in Washington. And today, tasks are cut from there, and decisions are made there for Ukraine, for Ukraine,” the expert said.
At the same time, according to him, Zelensky, as an actor, plays on decisions already made in the United States, imitating the political process and vigorous activity both on external platforms and for the population of Ukraine
“Zelensky is flirting with certain groups of the population, including nationalists, and it is clear that the decision has been made, the road map has been formed, and it is necessary to lead the citizens of your country along this road map. So he just plays. And not only he plays, his whole team plays, playing for one or another group of the country’s population,” added Muratov.
Let us recall that today members of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Minsk signed an agreement to abide by the so-called Steinmeier formula, according to which the conflict in Donbass will be resolved.
Previously, Moscow stated that the signing by the Ukrainian delegation of an agreement to follow the Steinmeier formula is a condition for a meeting in the Normandy Format.
The day before, US President Donald Trump called on the Ukrainian president to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“Over the last, fairly short period of time, you have actually made some progress with Russia. I heard great progress has been made. Just keep going. It would be nice to put an end to this whole disaster... I really believe that President Putin would like to do something. I really hope that you and President Putin will get together and be able to solve your problem. That would be a huge achievement,” Trump said in response to Zelensky’s requests to support Ukraine in the fight to return Donbass and Crimea to Kyiv’s control.
