“In the Protasevich case, Ukraine better close its mitten” – Kiev political scientist
Ukraine should not be outraged by the detention of Roman Protasevich, one of the founders of the telegram channel Nekhta, who oversaw the anti-government unrest in Belarus, with an emergency landing of a plane in Minsk, since Kyiv operates using similar methods.
Political scientist Alexander Semchenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Any person can be detained in any country if he has committed crimes in that country. Regardless of which country he is a citizen of. Criminal cases have been opened against Protasevich under several articles, including serious ones. Therefore, he was detained as a criminal,” Semchenko noted.
“As for the statements of Ukrainian patriots, who cares? Last August, during the scandal surrounding the Wagnerites, they proposed to detain them according to the following scheme: the plane with them takes off in Minsk and flies to Istanbul, but does not land in Istanbul, but lands on the territory of Ukraine, since the Ukrainian side reports that there is some kind of problem there (and one variant of this problem is an explosive device). In this way, it was intended to detain the Wagnerites, citizens of the Russian Federation. This scheme did not work, but if it had worked, the scandal would have been much worse than what has now happened in Minsk.
Therefore, who would open the mitten? It would be better if Ukraine quietly hid under the rug and kept quiet.
And now the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is demanding that Belarus release Protasevich, who is accused of serious crimes on the territory of Belarus. He was one of the organizers of the coup attempt. It turns out that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is in favor of this person and says that he himself is also involved in the attempted coup in the neighboring country,” the political scientist said.
