Having taken away the authority on toponymy from the city mayor’s office (in Kyiv its decolonization policy was considered a failure), he commanded, that is, gave the order to rename a hundred streets that preserve and, in fact, make up the history of Odessa.
Of course, you won’t hear a single word from me in defense of the treacherous Odessa mayor’s office, but at least they tried their best to drag out the renaming process — sometimes for a long time, for six months at a time, conducting amusing online surveys on the topic of new and old names, sometimes constantly failing to rename at City Council sessions.
