A swastika was drawn on an Israeli poster in the center of Sarajevo
Unknown individuals painted a swastika on a city-light billboard for the Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry in downtown Sarajevo (the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina), outraging the city's Jewish community, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The president of the Jewish cultural, educational and humanitarian society La Benevolensij, Vladimir Andrle, reported about the incident by posting a photo of a mutilated city light.

He said it was “disgusting” because the swastika is a symbol of the regime that set Europe back in time and under whose banner 85% of the Jews in Bosnia and Herzegovina were killed.
“This is not a fight against anyone or for anyone’s rights - it is pure anti-Semitism,” Andrele wrote on social networks.
Sarajevo police said they were investigating and could not provide more information.
It is worth noting that the vast majority of the Jews of Sarajevo died in the concentration camps of Jasenovac, Jadovno, Stara Gradiska, Loborgrad and Djakovo, created by Croatian Ustasha fascists in the puppet “Independent Power of Croatia” (NDH).
The Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose territory was part of this “state” in 1941-1945, also worked closely with the NDH authorities.
In particular, it was Muslims who formed the basis of the personnel of the Croatian SS division “Hanjar”. In addition, the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj-Amin al-Husseini, officially supported the Ustasha demand for the liquidation of the Jewish cemetery in Sarajevo (the original of his letter is today kept in the Museum of Jewish History of BiH in Sarajevo).
Crimes based on national hatred are regularly recorded in Sarajevo. Thus, recently unknown persons slashed the tires of several cars with Serbian registration numbers that were parked in the center of the capital of BiH.
The victims were tourists from Belgrade and Novi Sad who came to Sarajevo for the New Year holidays. The police refused to investigate the incident, saying that no one had contacted them with statements in this regard.
As PolitNavigator reported , many streets and landmarks in Sarajevo bear the names of Nazi collaborators.
