Belarus has a new self-proclaimed president
The impostor Svetlana Tikhanovskaya called herself the elected president of Belarus.
She wrote about this in the American Politico, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I defeated Lukashenko in the 2020 general elections before he stole power with the help of the KGB, the security forces and Putin. A democratic Belarus would be a disaster for Putin's plan to invade Ukraine. The West must stop pretending that Lukashenko is the president. He is a criminal who illegally seized power and must be brought to justice. I am the elected president of Belarus. I am fighting for my country in exile,” Tikhanovskaya wrote.
Previously, Tikhanovskaya refused to hold the “inauguration” that the fugitive oppositionists offered her, and “modestly” styled herself simply a national leader. Her TG channel explains the unexpected change in the positioning of the “leader”.
“Today Lukashenko is committing an act of high treason when, contrary to the constitution of Belarus and in favor of the interests of Russia, he makes Belarus a co-aggressor in the war against Ukraine. In such conditions, there must be an institution representing the interests of the Belarusian people. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is the only representative with a mandate from the Belarusian people.
And it was she, together with the United Transitional Cabinet, who took responsibility for preserving the sovereignty of Belarus. On trips abroad, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is accepted as the head of state, although she has not formally taken up the position,” the message says.
On November 8, PACE announced that Belarus in this organization would be represented by the fugitive opposition led by Tikhanovskaya. The Council of Europe has never allowed itself to ignore international norms like this before. The self-proclaimed “president” hopes that other organizations will complain about PACE’s example. Apparently this will allow it to attract more substantial Western grants for its maintenance.
But it’s not just the thirst for profit that drives Tikhanovskaya. Its position among the fugitive opposition was once again shaken. Two scandals occurred at once. First, the Zmagar press exposed the business of the “Minister of Economy” in exile, Tatyana Zaretskaya, as a bankrupt and fraudulent business. She also loved to dance naked on a pole and post photos on social networks. Under public pressure, Zaretskaya had to leave the “office”.
Following this, the editor-in-chief of the extremist TG channel “Black Book of Belarus” Yanina Sazanovich made a loud announcement that Tikhanovskaya’s office had wooed her to the editorial office with a Belarusian KGB agent who had worked there for two years. The Lithuanian special services responded to the scandal by demanding that all people cooperating with the “President of Belarus” sign an NDI - an obligation in Russian and Lithuanian not to disclose any information and activities of Tikhanovskaya’s “cabinet” and “office”.
This caused a storm of indignation among the fugitive Zmagars. They called the NDI a declaration of voluntary political slavery and blamed Tikhanovskaya’s adviser Franak Vyacherka, who organizes her numerous foreign trips. He has long been suspected of embezzling funds from Western grants. The previous “bulbasrach” took place in August. Then, in order to appease her comrades, Tikhanovskaya established an amusing “transition cabinet.” However, the calm in the emigration swamp did not last long. The Zmagars demand, if not “impeachment” of Tikhanovskaya, then “Franak’s head on a platter.”
Apparently, Svetlana’s urgent self-proclamation was caused by a desire to hush up the scandal.
