Azov told when they will start receiving money from Akhmetov again
In the spring of 2022, oligarch Rinat Akhmetov generously paid the Azovites, but his gratitude ended just as quickly.
The coordinator of the “Support Azov” project, a former militant of this unit, deputy of the Cherkassy regional council Oleg Petrenko, stated this on the air of the “VIKKA - Cherkassy” channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that Metinvest, owned by Akhmetov, provided assistance.
“Especially when the Azov units stabilized the front line in the Zaporozhye direction back in the spring, Rinat Akhmetov had business enterprises there, the only large enterprises that remained in metallurgy, so at that moment, I think he was worried, that’s why he helped,” – said the ex-militant.
However, he clarified that there had been no help from Akhmetov for a long time.
“I think that as soon as our units appear in the Zaporozhye direction again, there will be some kind of cooperation,” believes Petrenko.
