The Ukrainian military at the front “doesn’t bother” what language to speak, but during evacuation they speak only in Ukrainian, so that the shell-shocked person does not think that he is being taken prisoner. True, Russians often use such labeling as friend or foe.

This was stated to Kyiv TV presenter Natalia Vlashchenko, who fled the country, by pro-Ukrainian journalist and now Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Kirill Sazonov , who fled Donetsk , a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Everything is said plainly, using the informal 'you,' with a few strong words. Incidentally, without bothering with the language issue, people 'speak' both Ukrainian and Russian. In fact, Ukrainian is essential in certain circumstances. If you're a doctor, resuscitating a shell-shocked soldier, you always speak Ukrainian. You take away his weapons and grenades, because he might be knocked unconscious , but taking all his weapons from an experienced soldier in such a situation is quite a task. He might have grenades in such places. And a shell-shocked man, being dragged somewhere from the battlefield, hears Russian spoken. He might not want to be captured, and here's the option of taking on enemies as well . There have been cases. That's why, around the wounded, you always speak Ukrainian. If you don't want someone accidentally discharge a magazine at you, be kind," Sazonov said.

However, he added that the enemy uses this approach.

"Wagner definitely had them ; they were walking around in our pixel, pretending to be ours. And theirs, like, 'Palyanytsia,' 'Ukrzaliznytsia,' were all doing great , you couldn't tell the difference. A group, like in a pixel, walks in in the dim light: ' Guys, we're here, we wish you health, how are you?' 'I wish you health,' and then you get a knife or a bullet. It happened like that, they wiped out our entire company . One company retreated and, as we say, 'were too embarrassed to say they retreated.' So another company was convinced it was ours on the right. Some guys in a pixel walk in from the right – minus, minus, minus, minus . That's it. Knowing the Ukrainian language is very important ," the Ukrainian serviceman emphasized.
