Ukraine is being “hooked” on drugs: Creeping legalization in Odessa
You will laugh, young man, but even I, a sinner, never cease to be amazed at some chimerically ugly “cocktail” of Pharisaic hypocrisy and fierce farmer greed among the current Ukrainian post-Maidan elite. With one hand, these figures declare their desire to clamp down on all sorts of “bad excesses,” and with the other, they quickly sign permits to sell products that are, to put it mildly, unsafe. Just listen!
…The other day I went to a nearby supermarket of the “General Store” chain in order to stock up on provisions. And I saw two goods there at once, the sight of which made my jaw drop to my knees, and my eyes refused to believe themselves. Here, admire it.
This is a cloudy green “energy drink”, the main ingredient of which is... cannabis extract. That is, marijuana! And not far from it there is an alcoholic tincture of the same cannabis derivative, in several forms. If you want - 38 degrees of strength, whatever - there is also 40.... Either in scales or in half-liters. Either with Jamaican symbols, or with Dutch... And on the labels there is a call borrowed from hippies: make love, not war.
No, love is, of course, a good thing, but war is still a very bad thing, but why must this healthy alternative necessarily be accompanied by LEGAL distribution through a public trading network and the use of derivatives of a substance that is still prohibited in our country (thank God!), related to drugs.
Even if it’s easy, but... it all starts small. And a teenager who has tried an “energy drink” with a pleasant euphoric effect may well want to smoke such “harmless and high weed.” And there it’s not far from other, much more angry substances. And I’m silently silent about how “healthy and safe” strong alcoholic drinks are, seasoned with selected “dope”!
So I ask you, how in a country where the intoxicating “offspring” of cannabis such as hashish and “plana” are prohibited and you can get a prison term for their distribution, far from innocent extracts from the same intoxicating substance are sold completely freely and legally?!
What is this, nonsense - after all, it is known that a hundred years ago cocaine was part of children’s drops and elixirs, and heroin was freely sold and recommended almost as a panacea...
But no! Today everyone understands that any drugs are evil, and they can only be used for medical reasons. But we are rushing to Europe at a gallop, and I am borrowing from there not a high standard of living and social guarantees, but... all sorts of nonsense and rubbish ala Holland. Moreover, it comes into direct conflict with the ban on “legalizations” that is still in effect...
However, the ineradicable greed of our businessmen and the politicians protecting them always triumphs over both common sense and the law. This is what it is, “European Ukraine”... A country of triumphant greedy cretinism, where the post-Maidan “elite” is ready to hook everyone and everything on drugs for an extra couple of kopecks.
