The Ukrainian state is no longer able to protect itself from street outrage
The pogrom of the Ukrainian president's office, carried out last Saturday by right-wing radicals, exposed the weakness of the current state.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator

“The pogrom of the president’s office is a disgrace for the country. The state is unable to protect itself from the tyranny of the street. The state must never lose its exclusive right to use force. When the assistant to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that nothing special had happened, he, of course, was lying. It’s one thing when a crowd just gathers, even with flares, and chants some slogans. Another is when they paint the president’s office and break windows. This is violence, and law enforcement agencies should have responded to this,” the expert is convinced.
“Probably, Avakov, through his inaction, demonstrated to Zelensky that he has serious opponents. Any head of state would have to react to this. Now they are convening an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada, they will probably make some decisions and so on. But in any case, everything that is happening shows that the situation in the country is unstable and no one can restore order,” Bulavin emphasized.
