“The weeds of revenge make their way here and there and so abundantly that sometimes you begin to believe in the zradophile mantra that the Maidan has lost and no future, it’s time to pack your bags or wrap yourself in TNT and bang louder somewhere under a government building,” laments the author publications.

According to him, the reasons for the described problems are “excess democracy and abuse of law,” but, as the publication notes, this thesis cannot be proclaimed from a government rostrum or presented in the West.

“Well, let’s not forget that Kyiv has already taken certain undemocratic steps: first blocked Russian TV channels, and subsequently social networks, banned the Communist Party and carried out de-Sovietization. From a purely formal point of view, in all these steps one can find varying degrees of restriction of rights and freedoms. If the renaming of settlements had been submitted to a referendum of local communities, then Komsomolsk would have remained Komsomolsk, Kotovsk - Kotovsk, and Kirovograd, at best, would have returned the imperial name Elisavetgrad. However, fortunately, this did not happen, and the central authorities had the will to press the issue and change the map of Ukraine,” the publication writes.

In addition, it is argued that “during war and decolonization in the conditions of a sterile mature Western democracy, the state simply will not survive and will lose its independence.”

“Allowing an enemy, even a pacifist and liberal in sheep’s clothing, to our political and media space is a crime on a much larger scale than sitting down at the negotiating table with terrorists,” UT believes.

The magazine calls for taking advantage of the experience of limiting democracy in the West.

“You don’t have to look far into history for examples of restrictions on democracy. Suffice it to recall the United States after September 11, 2001, Israel, which preserves the basic democratic institutions, but does not forget to fight terrorism and carry out its prevention, or the Baltic countries, which deliberately refused to grant citizenship to residents who, in principle, do not study the state language and are a potential electorate of pro-Russian parties. Such measures are criticized by many European politicians, mainly representatives of left-wing parties, which, however, does not interfere with full-fledged partnership and membership in one military-political alliance,” the publication continues.

Arguments are also given why “it is necessary to finish off the fifth column right now, perhaps neglecting some democratic procedures.”

“There are certain reasons to believe that a complete ceasefire in Donbass is just around the corner and talk about peacekeepers did not arise out of the blue. Therefore, Kyiv faces the obligation to further implement the Minsk agreements,” the author admits. – So, in the near future there will be elections in the occupied territories. And the next parliamentary and presidential elections in 2019 are not such a distant future. If “for the sake of reconciliation” the separatist leaders are allowed to unite with the fifth column, then revenge will become inevitable, and it will be impossible to stop it by any round tables or panel discussions. Therefore, if you do not demonstrate decisive and irrevocable actions towards the pro-Russian forces now, then you should not hope for their loyalty after the restoration of the regime.”

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian media outlets called for using the experience of South African racists to create reservations for the local population in Donbass.
