Ukrainian Deputy Minister put forward a humiliating condition for resuming water supply to Crimea
Ukraine may consider resuming water supplies to Crimea, but to do this, the Russian authorities must recognize themselves as an occupier.
The Deputy Minister for “Apostrophe” stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
“There is drought in 70% of Crimea today; there is no water there. Almost every day there are reports that a river, reservoir, etc. is drying up. Even though it has been raining in recent days, the water level in reservoirs does not rise because evaporation occurs faster. Today, Crimea is actually a zone of environmental disaster. Without a doubt, agriculture is dying. There is a problem with the supply of water for people. There are many videos that show something brown flowing from the tap, but I’m already silent about what’s salty,” says Grymchak.

At the same time, he admits that the Russian Federation has never officially approached Ukraine with a request to resume water supply.
According to the official, in its appeal to Kyiv regarding water, the Russian authorities must write: “Dear authorities of Ukraine, we, the occupying country, the Russian Federation...”.
“If they recognize that this is an occupied territory that belongs to Ukraine, then for humanitarian reasons we can consider the possibility of supplying water. True, it will be necessary to calculate how much this water will cost the occupying country, the Russian Federation,” Grymchak said.
