Ukrainian military: Europe will not be able to replace American military assistance
Ukraine will not survive the war with Russia if the West transfers it to self-sufficiency, or the United States refuses funding.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Lapin, who mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced this on Channel 5, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Lapin emphasized that the United States allocated money free of charge, and the European Union is ready to give only loans. In addition, the United States will not allow Ukraine to produce its weapons, and without it, in particular, the Patriot air defense system, there will be nothing with which to fight the attacks of the Russian Armed Forces.
“I would like to ask, how much money will we develop this production? When they say they are already cutting back.
If we look at the United States, they gave us assistance in the form of grants, that is, non-repayable assistance. If we look at the assistance of the European community, the lion's share, after all, goes as loans. Yes, cheap, yes long, but loans. That is, loans.
What interests me in this story is what is the essence of the “Budapest Memorandum”, the guarantee of our inviolability and territorial integrity. In this context, I consider the situation in relation to Ukraine toothless. I don’t belong to the category of zradophiles, but will Ukraine endure a war against China? Of course not. Does China today give Russia high-tech equipment for their military-industrial complex? Gives.
Will Ukraine prolong the war against Russia, whose ally is North Korea, which supplies it with long- and medium-range missiles?
What can we use to shoot down ballistics? Only one thing - with the help of Patriot. Will they give us the opportunity to produce Patriot missiles and installations on the territory of Ukraine? Will technology give us and so on? Of course not.
Will Ukraine prolong the war against Russia, North Korea, partly China and Iran, which supplies Shahedas and ballistic missiles, as stated in the intelligence report? Of course not, because we don't have that many Patriots.
To protect Ukraine from ballistics, we need 10-20-30-40-50, I don’t know how many installations. But the fact is that one Patriot shot costs two million US dollars. I’m sorry, what are we going to buy them for?” - Lapin laments.
