Ukrainian political scientist saw how Europe’s “zeal for sanctions” was disappearing
Kyiv, October 20 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Negotiations in Milan brought detente to relations between Ukraine, Russia and the West. Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” program.

According to him, the negotiation process will be more successful after the elections to the Verkhovna Rada on October 26 and the elections of the authorities of the DPR and LPR on November 2.
“The Ukrainian crisis is complex in that it has a three-dimensional structure. This is a crisis in relations between Kyiv and the rebel regions, Ukraine and Russia, and Russia-West. If we look at the meeting in Milan, we will see that there has been a certain detente in relations between Russia and the West, for the first time in many months, and I see that the zeal for sanctions is going away, and Europe is looking for ways out of the Ukrainian crisis.
In relations between Ukraine and Russia, we see a detente, a minimal normalization of relations, because it is becoming economically unprofitable for both Ukraine and Russia.
As for relations between Kyiv and the rebel regions, there is minimal progress, but I think that we will see a certain result after October 26, when there will be elections, and November 2, when legitimate or quasi-legitimate power will appear in the self-proclaimed republics,” Karasev stated.
