Ukrainian internationalist: We are threatened by the Russian world in American clothes
Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election promises serious problems for Ukraine.
This was stated by Gennady Druzenko, who presented himself as a Ukrainian international lawyer, to the anti-Russian propaganda publication Novoye Vremya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is, in fact, the Russian world in American clothes, in an American context, because it is unpredictable and too personalized. This is a person who makes very subjective decisions, as in our tradition they say - on which foot he will get up. It is not institutions that play a role here, but his mood. On the one hand, he gives compliments to Putin, on the other hand, we remember who was the first to give Ukraine weapons,” Druzenko said.
He believes that it is this unpredictability that is the greatest danger for Ukraine.
“In fact, this is a time bomb for democracy as such. This is a huge loss for democracy. This means that we are fighting on the side of the past, not the future,” the expert worries.
In his words, “Trump is the end of America as we know it.”
“Well, you can make a mistake once, but if he is deliberately elected a second time... Like Orban, this is actually a time bomb for the European Union, only Hungary is small. And Trump’s America is a huge explosive for the entire democratic world. Who will be the leader of the democratic world next? Therefore, this will be a disaster for Ukraine,” the lawyer fears.
He believes that Kiev has approximately one more or less predictable year left, “during which the country must bring the war to a certain logical result,” since after this the state may find itself in a radically different situation.
At the same time, the expert believes that Trump may well become president.
Thus, a poll commissioned by CNN showed that Trump would now receive 49% in the election, while Biden would receive 45%.
The publication's interlocutor believes that criminal cases against him will not become an obstacle for Trump.
“Unfortunately, American legislation is so imperfect that it allows people to be elected even from prison,” Druzenko concluded.
