Ukrainian media professional: Fake news is the best tool to combat Russian propaganda
In an information confrontation with the Russians, the truth does not always win, and therefore the special services must be armed with manipulation and lies.
Maxim Mayorov, an expert at the Kyiv Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, stated this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Fighting against Russian disinformation is a useless endeavor, because the sheer scale of Russian disinformation, flows, opportunities, potential, they are so huge that Ukraine has nothing to drown it out. The Ukrainian voice will not be heard. It is impossible to shout down the flow of Russian propaganda and disinformation.
The policy that we always tell the truth and fight against lies and disinformation with the truth is a losing one. Because the truth doesn't always win. Manipulation and lies often reach the audience better; they are a better tool for information warfare than honesty and openness,” the expert said.
“Of course, there are various nuances that relate to information and psychological special operations that Ukraine conducts, but I am glad that these information operations are not carried out by our organization, that our colleagues do not carry them out, that these are the competence of structures that are associated with the army and special services,” - said Mayorov.
