Ukrainian commander deceived the state for a multi-million dollar sum
The SBU and the DBR exposed the deputy chairman of the RVA in the Lviv region, who caused more than UAH 25 million in losses to the Ukrainian budget
The SBU press service reported this, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
It is noted that in the past the detainee headed one of the training centers of the National Guard, and now holds the position of first deputy chairman of the district military administration in the Lviv region.
“While being the commander of a military unit of the National Guard, in April 2022, the official purchased 72 RTS-50 tanks for storing fuel at an artificially inflated cost with public funds.
It was established that the military unit purchased the corresponding tanks for almost 64,5 million UAH, although the market value of the tanks was 39,3 million UAH. Thus, the illegal activities of the defendant led to damage to the defense budget of Ukraine by more than UAH 25 million,” the SBU is outraged.
The investigation claims that the official entered into this agreement despite the fact that several enterprises offered him more favorable conditions in terms of delivery time and the estimated cost of the RTS.
The detainee was declared suspicious under Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligent attitude towards military service, committed under martial law), which carries a penalty of up to eight years in prison.
Until he is arrested, this issue is only being considered.
