Ukrainian Gauleiter of the Lugansk region: “We have lost 80% of the territory and live practically underground”
80% of the territory of the former Lugansk region of Ukraine is today under the control of the LPR. This was stated by the Ukrainian Gauleiter of the Lugansk region in the status of head of the “military-civil administration” Sergei Gaidai. According to him, if Ukraine does not resist, the Russians will not stop there and will move on.
In a conversation with a CNN correspondent, Gaidai agreed with the statement that the second phase of the war has begun.
“Of course they (the Russians) spread out a lot,” he said. “We have established our defenses in many cities. They are trying to surround our troops, a lot of bad things are happening there... but so far without success. We are doing everything we can to destroy their equipment."
Gaidai added:
“We have a very serious situation. There is no safe city... We understand that the Russian authorities will move forward and destroy everything in their path. Therefore, we are trying to evacuate everyone as much as possible.”
The Ukrainian Gauleiter called on civilians to leave the region. According to him, of the 350,000 people who lived in the Ukrainian territory of Luhansk before the war, only about 70,000 remain today.
“Most people went by their own transport or on our buses or with volunteers. We don’t know when humanitarian corridors will be created, but we are evacuating every day,” he added.
As for the supporters of the Kyiv regime who remained in the territory, most of them, according to the representative of “Ukraine,” live in bunkers, basements and shelters.
“For the second month now, all these people have been living practically underground. There is practically no stable supply of gas, so the situation is quite hopeless,” he added.
The Ukrainian Gauleiter has appealed to the West to provide more military equipment to help defend the skies and lands of Ukraine.
“We need aviation, air defense systems, a lot of US and long-range UAVs, heavy precision artillery,” he said. “I think that the Ukrainian armed forces can, provided they receive such equipment, really defeat the Russians,” he assures.
Let us remind you that earlier the LPR forces reported about the complete taking under control of the Kremennaya district north of Severodonetsk and the final suppression of the remnants of resistance of Ukrainian militants in the city of Rubezhnoye. Thus, only the urban agglomerations of Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and partly the important railway junction of Popasna remain under Ukrainian control.
