Ukrainian expert: The US will not be able to help against Iranian missiles
In the foreseeable future, the West does not have the ability to supply Ukraine with air defense systems that could cope with Iranian ballistic missiles.
Alexey Izhak, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, stated this on the Espreso.TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Just yesterday there was a 400 million package, which included Avengers ( Avenger is an American self-propelled short-range anti-aircraft missile system mounted on the chassis of an HMMWV all-terrain vehicle – ed. ), and again there is a significant quantity of high-precision projectiles for HIMERS," the presenter said.
“From the point of view of weapons, then everything is invested in ensuring that Ukraine continues the counter-offensive until the territories are completely liberated. A little air defense. There is not the kind of air defense that provides reliable protection against ballistic missiles, it doesn’t exist. I think with Iranian ballistic missiles, if they appear there, we must counteract them by other means.
But what is provided is the main thing - for HIMERS it is a more powerful projectile that fires at a greater range. I think it will be enough to block supplies from Crimea from the Right Bank,” Izhak said.
The presenter noted that the rate of shooting of shells is significantly faster than the rate of their production at enterprises of the American and European defense industries.
“Why did it happen that the Americans and Europeans are not able to quickly increase the production of critical weapons, keeping in mind the needs of such combat operations?” – asked the presenter.
“There are not enough high-precision projectiles; indeed, if you look, they are talking about the supply of 500 high-precision projectiles of 155 caliber and thousands of simple ones. The main problem is that no one prepared for such a big European war, they thought that there were enough reserves.
The United States has been busy preparing for a major new phase in nuclear weapons modernization. There are big orders, a trillion dollars for 10 years. We were not prepared for this - to use weapons on the battlefield of a massive big war. They thought that there was enough for Taiwan, but no one thought about Ukraine that this could happen, and that’s why there is such a shortage now,” the expert explained.
