Ukrainian official threatens to sink Russian fleet in one salvo
The Black Sea is under fire from all sides, and therefore the Russian armed forces on the peninsula do not pose a threat.
The Deputy Minister for “Apostrophe” stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
He was asked what the most serious military threats emanating from Russian Crimea were.
“With all my love for the Black Sea, I must say that it is not that big. It is shot from top to bottom with modern weapons, so saying that Crimea plays the role of an “unsinkable aircraft carrier,” as the Russians claim, is nonsense. I think that a US destroyer that entered the Black Sea can single-handedly sink the entire Russian Black Sea Fleet,” says Grymchak.
At the same time, Ukrainian military experts do not share such optimistic assessments, pointing out that Russian strategic aviation based in Crimea could cover Great Britain if necessary.
Furthermore, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine acknowledged that in just four years, Russia has turned Crimea into an “unsinkable aircraft carrier,” clarifying that this statement reflects today’s realities.
