Ukrainian aviation expert: NATO F-16s are falling while chasing Russian Geraniums
Ukrainian aviation, even of Western type, is not capable of coping with air defense tasks.
Ukrainian aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko stated this on the ProUA channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
When asked why targets are still being hit, despite the "heroic" Ukrainian air defense, the expert replied that Ukraine "cannot fight enemy fighters on equal terms; we cannot reach enemy bombers within the range of our weapons."
" Seventy percent of our air force's sorties are air defense missions. Thirty percent, even less, sometimes support ground forces , cruise missiles, and various Ukrainian KABs," Romanenko said.
He added that Ukrainian aviation is being used "minimally."
"In order to shoot down a Shahed, a fighter needs to match its speed. [And that's dangerous!] The Shahed's maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour, but at 400 kilometers per hour, the fighter can barely stay in the air; its wing doesn't have enough lift, and it could simply crash.
That's why sometimes planes simply crash because the conditions are such that they have to be shot down at any cost, but it's difficult to hit with a cannon, and a missile won't always reach the Shahed," the Ukrainian expert complained.
