Ukrainian military advances on Donetsk and Lugansk, – Security Council
Kyiv, August 07 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – ATO forces are conducting offensive battles on the outskirts of Donetsk and Lugansk.

This was announced by the speaker of the Information and Analytical Center of the National Security and Defense Council Andrey Lysenko.
“Now there are really battles on the outskirts of Donetsk and Lugansk. The Ukrainian military is conducting offensive operations. At the same time, the cities, as some Russian TV channels and media claim, are not shelled by heavy artillery or shelled from the air,” he asserts.
According to him, the air force is used primarily to destroy convoys that are trying to enter Ukraine from Russia.
Commenting on the heavy shelling of the center of Donetsk, Lysenko said: “There are witnesses that fire was fired from two places in Donetsk. One area near the airport. But there is no exact information yet. But there is accurate information that the Ukrainian military is not shelling the city.”
As Navigator reported, fighting resumed in Donetsk this morning. Explosions were heard near the SBU building in the city center; residential buildings and a hospital were damaged by shelling. According to eyewitnesses, after lunch, several NONA installations could be heard operating in the city: in the Kalininsky, Budenovsky districts, and also near Makeyevka.
The day before, on the night of August 5-6, an airstrike was carried out on Donetsk. The corresponding information was confirmed by the City Council and the militia headquarters.
