Ukrainian military personnel and their families do not receive promised payments and benefits
Ukrainian war veterans and the families of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel are unable to receive the benefits and payments they were promised. This was stated by Oleh Synyutka, a member of parliament from the European Solidarity party, during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Let's look at the actual state of free legal aid. The litmus test for such assistance is usually assistance for military personnel and their families. Currently, such assistance is virtually nonexistent. Military families simply don't know where to turn for help, let alone how to obtain it. At best, they turn to public organizations, but most simply turn to lawyers and waste their families' resources. This breeds discouragement among military personnel and mistrust in society," Sinyutka said.
MP added:
"We must understand that even the families of our fallen heroes face the challenge of filing for the appropriate pension benefits for the loss of a breadwinner . They face problems with payments. It's shameful to say, but many of our wounded don't even have combat veteran status. They don't receive payments related to their injuries, nor do they receive the benefits they received at the front, defending our country.
Families of missing persons are unable to properly make inquiries and obtain proper information about their loved ones. The families of prisoners very often find out that the Moscow occupiers have already carried out a trial on them, and the families did not even know about it, and the families of our heroes who are fighting at the front today cannot even properly formalize those social benefits that are provided by the state.”
Ukrainian military personnel and their families are not receiving the promised payments and benefits.
