Ukrainian sociologists: Every fifth person in the central regions is unreliable
Kyiv, March 27 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The South and East of Ukraine are the leaders of pro-Russian sentiment among the macro-regions of Ukraine.
These are the data of a sociological study by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, presented at a press conference in Kyiv and demonstrating the so-called Performance Index of Russian propaganda in Ukraine.

As KIIS representatives explained, by the effectiveness of Russian propaganda they understand “the spread of support for the main theses of Russian propaganda by the population of Ukraine,” each of which is believed by 80 percent of Russian citizens.
“In our opinion, the core of this propaganda is a quasi-logical chain: the Maidan was organized by the Americans together with the nationalists - as a result of the Maidan, nationalists came to power and threaten the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine - Crimea and the East of Ukraine were in danger - Crimea was protected by incorporating it into Russia , and the East has rebelled and wants independence and security guarantees - the nationalists, having illegally come to power, started a war with their people,” KIIS Director Vladimir Paniotto pointed out the index criteria.
Predictably, Western Ukraine turned out to be the least receptive to Russian theses - 12 percent of the population. Already in the Center, almost every fifth (19 percent) has an opinion that is in tune with the official Russian one, and in the South - every third (32 percent).
The leader of pro-Russian sentiments in Ukraine is the East, including Donbass, where almost half of the population (48 percent) shares pro-Russian theses.
The survey was conducted from February 14 to February 24, 2015 using personal interviews. 2013 respondents living in 108 settlements of all regions of Ukraine (except for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were interviewed using a stochastic sample representative of the population of Ukraine over 18 years of age. In the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, the research was carried out both in territories controlled by Ukraine and in territories not controlled.
